Kids say the darndest things

"Kids say the darndest things" says Ms Ella. Ms Ella is my 3-year-old daughter's day care teacher. My little one comes up with some remarks that are astounding in their simplicity and complexity at the same time. She says a lot of things of course! Phrases such as Drama Queen, Energizer bunny usually precede her name. Thought I will write them down. Here they go -

  1. On our ride to her day care on morning, she is doing her usual stuff - sing, talk, blabbler. "Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday" then followed by "Domingo, Lunes, Martes, Miercoles, Jueves, Viernes, Sabado" which was then followed by "Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday" which was then followed by "Domingo, Lunes, Martes, Miercoles, Jueves, Viernes, Sabado" .... so you get the idea of how our travel goes. Very communicative. And then she stopped all of a sudden and said "When will the days be over?"
  2. One other day she asked - "Why did you grow up?" There are moments in my life when I wonder about this too
  3. "Why is Addu a boy?" was her question the other day. Addu is her younger brother. I was contemplating many explanations to that question. Like on the physiological level or genetical level or even on a philosophical level. May be this would have been her sneek peak at probability theory. I ended up saying - "Because he is always bumping his head"

Blogged down

Finally I take the plunge into the unknown world of blogging. It took me a while, a lot of while, to figure out how this stuff works. I guess the urge to be heard is as basic as other human urges. I think it falls some where between the urge to switch channels at the speed of light and the urge to check email every other hour to ensure that the UN General Assembly is not waiting on you to pass a key memorandum. Who cares if there is no one at the receiving end!
That brings me to a good point - actually why stop at good...I would say- a great point. If laws of supply-demand hold true, and assuming that people are blogging in the boat loads and not too many are reading those blogs then shouldnt at some point the supply dry out?;)
But I digress. It is indeed an affliction when you are dreaming of how to blog an experience of waking up at 5AM to clean up the little one's soiled diaper (I know the kid has issues!). And I have succumbed to that malaise. It even sounds disgusting or at best daunting - the word BLOG. Like CLOG or SLOG or FLOG...
I cannot say I have taken to this blogging thingy like a dog takes to a lamp post. I feel pressured, just the same way I was pressured into opening an email account. In fact I remember to have outsourced it to my girl friend. Ditto to the concept of egroups. I still do not own any video games and am a proud owner of a second hand CRT TV set. In short, I cannot be called being at the bleeding edge of technology.

With that - here's to blogging!
